Terms of Use
Last updated: 29 October 2026
Short version: the generator is free and provided as is. The art you create from your own text belongs to you.
1. Acceptance
By using Amharic ASCII Art ("the site", "the tool") you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
2. The service
The tool converts Amharic (Ge'ez) text, or Latin transliteration of it, into ASCII art that you can copy or download. It runs entirely in your browser and is offered free of charge, without registration.
3. Your content
You keep all rights to the text you enter. You are responsible for making sure you have the right to use it. Because processing happens locally, we never receive or store your text.
4. Ownership of the output
ASCII art generated from your own text is yours to use for any purpose, including commercial use, without attribution. We claim no licence over it.
The site's name, design, layout and code remain the property of their respective owners and may not be copied to create a competing service.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the tool for unlawful purposes or to create content that infringes the rights of others;
- attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site or its infrastructure;
- resell or rebrand the site itself as your own product.
6. Third-party components
The site uses fonts served by Google Fonts under the SIL Open Font License, and may load Google Ads measurement scripts as described in our privacy policy. Those services are governed by their own terms.
7. No warranty
The tool is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Transliteration covers the standard Ge'ez syllabary but may not handle every rare character or dialect spelling correctly. Check the preview before relying on the output.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from the use of, or inability to use, the site — including lost data, lost profits or damage to reputation.
9. Availability and changes
We may modify, suspend or discontinue the site, or these terms, at any time. The "last updated" date above will reflect changes. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable at the operator's principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing here limits mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.
